The River Dee is one of Scotland’s finest rivers. It starts high in the Cairngorms National Park, at just under 4000ft and runs for 85 miles before emerging into the North Sea at Aberdeen.
This seat is close to Invercauld, a small area of Royal Deeside in Aberdeenshire. Invercauld borders with the King’s estate at Balmoral. Queen Victoria bought the Balmoral Estate in the 1800s and Balmoral Castle has been the Scottish vacation for queens and kings ever since. King Charles III can often be found walking the paths around Balmoral and Invercauld. Perhaps a queen or king has sat on this very seat!
